Design Drawings and Budget Plan for Village Health Posts

Poskesdes, an abbreviation for Pos Kesehatan Desa (Village Health Post), is a Community-Based Health Effort (UKBM) established within a village to bring essential primary healthcare services closer to the local community.

The Poskesdes acts as a healthcare facility that represents a synergy between community initiatives and government support. It also serves as a central coordinator for all other community-based health efforts active within a specific village or sub-district.

Objectives of Poskesdes Construction

The primary goal is to foster a healthy community that is alert to health issues. Specific objectives include:

• Accessibility: Implementing an “Active Alert Village” (Desa Siaga Aktif) by providing primary health services within reach of the community.
• Empowerment: Encouraging community self-reliance in health and increasing public knowledge regarding wellness.
• Early Warning: Enhancing community vigilance against risks and hazards that cause health disruptions, especially infectious diseases, potential outbreaks (KLB), and their risk factors (including nutritional status and high-risk pregnancies).
• Integrated Coordination: Facilitating professional primary health services and coordinating other village-level health programs.

Core Functions of the Poskesdes

1. A platform for active community participation in the healthcare sector.
2. A vehicle for early warning systems against various health risks and problems.
3. A primary healthcare delivery hub to improve the coverage and reach of health services.
4. A networking center for various community health initiatives to develop a resilient village health ecosystem.

Management and Administration

The Poskesdes is managed by the community through at least two health cadres, under the technical guidance of at least one midwife (bidan). While initial staffing may be supported by the Government, it is expected that the community will gradually sustain these roles independently. The board, selected through community consensus and established by a Village Head Decree, typically consists of a Supervisor, Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, and Members.

Planning and Budget Allocation

Establishing a Poskesdes requires meticulous planning. This involves not only the physical building construction but also the procurement of furniture (meubeler) and medical devices (alkes) necessary for standardized services.
