Financial budget planning for Posyandu operations must be prepared before the end of the current fiscal year to ensure seamless execution in the following year. The Posyandu Budget Plan (RAB) encompasses all operational needs as part of the village government’s support for stunting convergence.
The implementation of integrated health services for toddlers is a primary pillar in handling and reducing stunting at the village level. Therefore, a high-quality concept is required to ensure that Posyandu services are effective and beneficial for the community.
Comprehensive Support and Facilities
Beyond providing Supplementary Feeding (PMT), infrastructure and operational support are vital. This includes:
- Infrastructure: Construction or renovation of Posyandu buildings to provide a proper service environment.
- Human Resources: Honorariums for Posyandu Cadres appointed by the Village Head Decree.
- Operational Support: Funding to maximize health services, which is monitored and evaluated by the Village Stunting Human Development Workers (KPM Stunting).
The Role and Scope of Posyandu
While often associated with infants and toddlers, Posyandu provides critical services for a broader demographic, including pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and couples of childbearing age. Its primary objective is to prevent maternal and infant mortality during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period through community empowerment.
Unlike Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) which operate daily, Posyandu serves the community at least once a month. Locations are strategically placed to be easily accessible, often operating at the Hamlet (Dusun) or neighborhood (RT/RW) levels.
Strategic Budgeting for Health
A well-structured RAB Posyandu ensures that the Village Fund is utilized efficiently to meet national health targets. By documenting every need—from medical supplies to cadre incentives—the Village Government maintains transparency and accountability in its efforts to build a healthier generation.
