Village Head’s Decree for Community-Based Integrated Child Protection Volunteers

Child Protection Volunteers are dedicated individuals who voluntarily contribute their time, energy, and expertise to help safeguard children from violence, exploitation, and abuse. Their roles involve diverse activities, such as educating children about their rights, supporting rehabilitation programs for children affected by violence, and collaborating with governmental and non-governmental organizations to raise awareness about child protection issues.

These volunteers often act as advocates for children, pushing for better policies and more effective services to ensure the safety and well-being of every child. They are part of a coordinated network of community members working together to achieve the goal of comprehensive child protection.

The volunteer group, often referred to as Community-Based Integrated Child Protection (PATBM), is established to enhance services and fulfill children’s rights to survival, growth, development, and protection from violence and discrimination. These volunteers are officially appointed through a Village Head’s Decree (SK Kepala Desa).

Duties of Child Protection Volunteers

The mandate within the Decree for Child Protection Volunteers includes several key responsibilities:

1. Conducting regular meetings regarding child protection issues within the community.
2. Maintaining records and archiving documents related to child protection activities.
3. Executing publications, socialization, and campaigns focused on anti-violence and child rights promotion.
4. Performing other duties assigned by the Ministry of Women Empowerment and Child Protection related to community-based protection initiatives.
5. Evaluating and reporting the implementation of community-based protection programs to the Ministry, the Governor (via the Provincial Secretary), the Regent, and the Sub-district Head (Camat).
